Twitter Spam Is Already Happening
I have no idea who these people are, but they’re following me. Why would they do that?
To get links. It’s always about links. Notice the sexy female avatars?
It will be interesting to see how Twitter responds.

They simply want attention, Dave, and by following you they’re hoping to get some. Just block them, or better yet, follow @spam and send a direct message with their username in it.

Hi, Mark, you should not use terms like “sexy” in your comments as Akisment flagged it as spam.
I think it’s a common perception that the Internet is more male than female. By using female avatars, I am betting these spammers are hoping they’ll be given more freedom to post their bogus stuff.
